UniFi Access reader devices will show an Invalid Card error message if the user:
Attempts to unlock a door by swiping an unregistered NFC card.
Attempts to unlock a door by swiping an unassigned NFC card.
Is deleted on the UniFi Access application.
Swipes a third-party NFC card while the Advanced Security - Only Allow UA-Card feature is enabled.
If the invalid card error message appears when a user unlocks a door:
Make sure their NFC card is registered and assigned to them:
- Open the Users page in the UniFi Access application, register the card, and assign it to them per the process outlined in Manage NFC Cards.
- Open the Users page in the UniFi Access application, register the card, and assign it to them per the process outlined in Manage NFC Cards.
Make sure the user hasn't been deleted, and recreate their profile if needed:
- Open the Users page, recreate the user's profile, and reassign their NFC card per the process outlined in Manage NFC Cards.
- Open the Users page, recreate the user's profile, and reassign their NFC card per the process outlined in Manage NFC Cards.
Check if the user has a third-party NFC card that has been disabled because the Advanced Security - Only Allow UA-Card feature is enabled:
If they do and you need to assign them a UA card, either register a new UA card and assign it to them (See Register NFC cards via app.) or assign them an existing UA card per the process outlined in Manage NFC Cards.
If they do but you'll still permit them to use it, go to Settings > Preferences and disable the Advanced Security - Only Allow UA-Card toggle.
If none of the processes above resolve your invalid card error, update your UniFi Access application to Version 1.3 or higher, then update the firmware of all your UniFi Access devices.
If you're still receiving an invalid card error after updating your UniFi Access application and devices, factory reset each of your UniFi Access devices. To do so:
Press and hold the device's Reset button with a small pin, then release when its LED status indicator turns white.
Re-adopt the device to your UniFi Access application.
Repeat this process for all of your devices.
