Article Summary

Only the Door Guards of UniFi Access will receive a notification when someone at the door rings the doorbell. The admins will be added as the door guards by default, you can remove them from the door guards list anytime.

To receive doorbell notifications:

  • Make sure you have permission to receive doorbell notifications.

    • To grant admin permission to users, refer to Manage users for more information.
    • To assign users as door guards, refer to Add door guards for instructions.
  • Make sure notifications are enabled for the web version of your UniFi Access:

    • Browser notifications are enabled on the system settings of your PC.
    • Browser notifications are enabled for your UniFi OS.
  • Make sure notifications for the UniFi Access mobile app are enabled on the system settings of your mobile device.


Add door guards

  1. Launch your UniFi Access application.
  2. Go to LOCATIONS and select a door.
  3. Go to the Settings tab of the door details panel.
  4. Scroll down to Door Guard and click Add Door Guard.
  5. Hover your mouse over the user you want to assign as a door guard and click Add.

Answer doorbells

Via the UniFi Access mobile app

You do not need to keep the app running in the background to receive doorbell notifications. All incoming call notifications will pop up when the doorbell is ringing. You can perform the following actions in the UniFi Access mobile app.

Note

Ignored calls will be forwarded to other users.

Video chat with visitors.Click Answer.
Hang up the call.Click Decline.
Ignore the call.Click “X” in the top right corner.
Turn on or turn off the speaker.Click Speaker to turn on or turn off the speaker.
Turn on or mute the microphone.Click Mic to turn on or turn off the video call's audio.
Note

Once the speaker or microphone is turned off, all door audio will be muted.

Via the UniFi Access application

You can perform the following actions in Doorbell on the UniFi Access application.

Answer the call.Click the green call icon.
Decline the call.Click the red call icon.
Unlock the door.Click Unlock.
Hang up the call.Click Decline.
Note

You will still be notified that UniFi OS is not your current browsing page in the browser's notification channel.
